A Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist admitted to raping an Israeli girl in her home during Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 surprise attack, according to chilling footage of his interrogation released Thursday by the Israel Defense Forces.
Manar Mahmoud Muhammad Kasem, 28, confessed to the sick act after he was captured, along with hundreds of other PIJ and Hamas terrorists, by the IDF at Shifa Hospital in Gaza, i24News reported.
Armed with two grenades and a handgun in last year’s attack on Israel, Kasem told interrogators he entered the nearest home and found the girl in her room, who he said was “scared.”
“She told me to help her,” he said. “I took her and threw her on the couch.”
He remembered the girl as being thin with short hair and was wearing a blue skirt and white shirt before he ripped off her clothes and sexually assaulted her.
“The devil took over me. I laid her down, started undressing her, and did what I did. I slept with her.”
The interrogator rejected that, telling Kasem: “You did not sleep with her, sleep is to sleep, so what did you do?”
Kasem replied: “I raped her.”
He said the assault didn’t “last long” because he “heard shouting outside.”
He said he only stopped because “two men came through the door forcefully and we heard screaming.”
Kasem said the duo were a part of the Al-Aqsa martyrs brigade, which is Hamas’ armed wing.
Before fleeing the kibbutz, Kasem told interrogators he shot one civilian and threw a grenade. He did not stop to see if the man was dead.
The release of Kasem’s interrogation comes days after former hostage, Amit Soussana, recalled being sexually assaulted by her Hamas captor.
The 40-year-old said the abuse started just days after she was taken hostage. Her captor had unchained her from her bed and then shoved a gun in her forehead, she told The New York Times.
Soussana was forced to shower by her captor, who was only identified as Muhammad, who then took her into a children’s bedroom and assaulted her.
“He sat me on the edge of the bath. And I closed my legs. And I resisted. And he kept punching me and put his gun in my face,” she said. “Then he dragged me to the bedroom,” she recalled to The Times.
“Then he, with the gun pointed at me, forced me to commit a sexual act on him,” she said.
Prior to the assault, Muhammad watched over her and often came and sat beside her, lifting her shirt and groping her, she told the publication. She said he would often ask her about her sex life and walked by her room in his underwear.
A United Nations report from earlier this month indicates that there is “clear and convincing information” that some Israeli hostages had suffered sexual violence.
