Gas finally decreases in the Killeen-Fort Cavazos area | Local News

Here’s a look at the local, state and national prices.

In Killeen on Saturday, Gasbuddy.com users reported the cheapest regular gasoline selling for $2.96 per gallon at Walmart on 1380 Lowes Blvd., which is cheaper than other locations in the area. As for diesel, Valero and Circle K located on 3900 Trimmier Road, was reportedly selling at the cheapest price point in Killeen at $3.27 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com users.

In Harker Heights, gas was reportedly selling for $2.96 per gallon at Murphy USA, 2010 A Heights Drive, according to GasBuddy.com users. The lowest price for diesel in Harker Heights was reportedly $3.27, at Walmart, 960 Knight’s Way. For those with Sam’s Club memberships, it was selling regular unleaded gas for $2.96. Sam’s Club was selling diesel at $3.25 per gallon on Saturday, according to the Club website.

In Copperas Cove, the cheapest regular gas was reported as selling for $3.06 per gallon at Murphy USA, 2712 E. Highway 190, GasBuddy.com reported. Diesel was reportedly selling for $3.37 at the H-E-B located on 2990-A E US-190, according to GasBuddy.com users.

The lowest-priced gasoline at Fort Cavazos was selling for $2.95 per gallon on Saturday at AAFES, on Warrior Way, according to GasBuddy.com. Diesal was selling at the Valero and AAFES, 1002 761st Tank Battalion Road, for $3.33.

The statewide average for a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.24, which is 3 cents lower than it was last week and 1 cent higher than it was a year ago, according to AAA.

The national gas price average is $3.65 per gallon of regular gasoline, which is a decrease of 2 cents compared to last week, according to the AAA website. It is 2 cents higher than a year ago.
