When my wife and I decided to move to Watchung in the Summer of 2007, we did so with the plan of growing our family in a community with great schools, stable taxes, and a good quality of life. We had one child at the time but we planned to have more and Watchung satisfied all the requirements; a stable established community with honest governance, lower taxes than surrounding towns and an exemplary school system. We moved from a community where the ethics of the town leaders were questionable, where there was no end in sight to ever increasing property taxes, and where we continually received diminishing standard of care from our Public works and school systems.
We do not want to see this happen to Watchung as we plan to continue to raise our family in this community. This past year we are beginning to see some similarities We need honest council members who will serve with integrity and govern with high standards and ethics. We need dedicated council members who will work hard to halt the ever increasing property taxes, enhance our quality of life, and foster an inspiring gold standard vision for our school system. We need leaders that are principled, honest, and accountable. Simply we need leaders we can count on.
This is why my wife and I are proud to voice our support for Ronald Jubin and Fred Hayek for council members this coming November. They are long standing members of the community and show a devotion to the same values my wife and I hold dear to our hearts. You can see their enthusiasm and commitment when you meet them, which gives us hope for the future of our beloved town.
