TRI-CITIES, Wash. – Plaid Friday and Small Business Saturday are coming up on Nov. 24 and 25 with both days being focused on supporting local and independently owned businesses over the holidays.
Plaid Friday is seen as the opposite of Black Friday with the plaid pattern representing small businesses weaving together as individual threads to create a strong fabric celebrating the creativity of local business.
Small Business Saturday was created by bank holding company American Express to help promote shopping locally.
Here are some local areas to check out on these two days:
Kennewick – Downtown Kennewick
- Over 130 local small businesses
- Enter to win prizes for every $15 spent at “That’s the Ticket” Shop Stop locations

YAKIMA, Wash.-The Downtown Association of Yakima will host its 5th Annual Small Business Saturday promotion on Nov. 25. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- Shop Local Contest
- Every $25 spent at an Ellensburg business enters the contest for a chance to win cash prizes up to $1,000.
