Will Damian Lillard sell his Oregon houses?

It’s official: The Portland Trail Blazers are trading Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks. Which then leads to the next mystery: What will happen to the point guard’s residential real estate holdings in Oregon?

The 33-year-old sports legend and rapper has completed construction on a new house in Tualatin and since 2017, he and his extended family have lived on a five-acre gated estate in West Linn overlooking the Willamette River. Mount Hood can be seen from the infinity pool that appears to spill directly into the river.

Lillard’s longtime residence has 15,000 square feet of living space, spread across a two-story main house and guest house. Inside the main house are perks like tiered seating and blackout shades in the theater.

There is also a 3,000-square-foot structure, outfitted with exercise equipment and skylights above exposed ceiling trusses. The adjoining spa area was designed with a hair salon station, sauna and Jacuzzi.

“This home is a destination unto its own,” said broker Justin Harnish of Harnish Properties, who represented the original owners who sold the property on July 12, 2017, to Lillard’s family trust for $6,650,000.

Representing Lillard’s family in the purchase was Terry Sprague of LUXE Forbes Global Properties.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard (0) brings the ball up court in the first half of an NBA basketball game against the Memphis Grizzlies Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021, in Memphis, Tenn.

Privacy and security are key features for Lillard. At his current residence, a long driveway at the end of a cul-de-sac leads to a guard station in front of the security gate, then on to the bluff-top main house, which was built in the Northwest contemporary style in 2003.

The cedar and stone used for the home’s exterior is repeated in the guest house, covered outdoor spaces and colonnade along the sports court.

There are five fireplaces in the main house and another fireplace in the covered outdoor space. Glass doors slide away to open the living and dining rooms to one of the patios.

Property taxes are more than $73,000 a year.

In addition to his NBA deal, Lillard’s 10-year-contract for his Adidas Dame line is potentially worth $100 million, and he has lucrative endorsements for other brands. He and business partner Brian Sanders are co-owners of Damian Lillard Toyota dealership in McMinnville.
