Why Does Leonardo DiCaprio Own 4 Mansions Right Next To Each Other? The Truth

It’s safe to say that Leonardo DiCaprio has come a long way from the low-income Los Angeles neighborhood where he grew up.

The movie star’s career began when he was only five years old, and today he is among the most well-known performers in the world as well as a UN Messenger of Peace who works to inspire people to take action against climate change.

Despite being a busy guy, it is understandable why he has amassed a substantial property portfolio over the years, even going so far as to own four mega-mansions close to one another. Here’s why and how he did this…

Where Is Leonardo DiCaprio Living Now?

Leonardo DiCaprio, who amassed over $100 million from his blockbuster movies, is an excellent real estate investor in addition to being an actor. He has a number of residences in Los Angeles alone, but for the time being, he primarily resides at his Beverly Hills mansion.

DiCaprio has lived in a 4,500-square-foot hilltop home in the Hollywood Hills’ Bird Streets neighborhood for more than 20 years. It boasts an infinity pool and sweeping views of the Los Angeles cityscape, from the DTLA towers to the Pacific Ocean, but some renovations took place years away from his purchase.

Some of Bird Streets’ most exquisite landscaping is also present on the property. The lush lawns on the property are shaded by privet hedges and eucalyptus trees that the Linclaus planted, and they also give the house privacy from the street in front.

One of the biggest complexes in the Hollywood Hills, his Bird Streets property currently spans five adjacent parcels of land, totaling a huge 5.14 acres. On the combined estate, there are four homes, four swimming pools, and more than 15,000 square feet of luxurious living space.

Inside Leonardo DiCaprio’s Luxurious Real Estate Portfolio

In 2021, Leonardo DiCaprio made waves when he paid $7.1 million for a Spanish Colonial in Loz Feliz that had formerly belonged to Robert Pattinson and Gwen Stefani, as well as Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

Since his breakthrough with 1993’s What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?, the notoriously reclusive Oscar winner has purchased and sold about a dozen luxurious houses in locales as diverse as Palm Springs, Malibu, New York City, and a private island in Belize. Given that he also manages the costs of maintaining a super yacht that he frequents, he’s certainly rolling in dough.

Unlike other celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and Adam Levine, who frequently flip homes, Leonardo DiCaprio has kept most of his purchases and rented out his less-used residences.

Actually, the first property that Leonardo DiCaprio bought was a pair of adjoining residences in the Hollywood Hills, one of which he purchased from Madonna for $2 million in the ’90s, and the other of which he acquired in 1994. He spent a total of $4 million on the estate.

According to Realtor.com, after buying the house about 30 years ago, DiCaprio has made extensive renovations, and these days he uses it primarily for entertaining. The Oscar winner reportedly turned the property’s basketball court into a viewing party venue on Election Day, as reported by Vanity Fair.

He already has estates in Malibu, Palm Springs, Beverly Hills, Los Feliz, New York City, and an island close to Belize. While he can rent some of the extremely opulent locations, others are only for his personal use. DiCaprio is officially a real estate titan.

Leonardo DiCaprio Owns 4 Mansions Right Next To Each Other

The Oscar winner has spent the past two decades carefully amassing his estate, starting with the purchase of his primary home, a 4,500-square-foot hilltop mansion in the Bird Streets neighborhood with jaw-dropping views and an infinity pool.

The estate was comprised of two adjacent properties; Leonardo DiCaprio paid just $2 million to acquire one of them from Madonna in the ’90s.

DiCaprio has expanded the property throughout his tenure as owner and installed a basketball court. According to Dirt, who originally reported the acquisition, the estate currently consists of five connected mansions.

After Joan Linclau, DiCaprio’s neighbor of three years, passed away in 2022, her widower Ron sold their home to Leo in a private transaction for $10.5 million (£8.8m). The 1963-built house has a total of 3,527 square feet of living area and four bedrooms. It’s a lot of money, which has fans questioning his lavish lifestyle amidst his…
