Two years ago, Blair Rich bought a lavish Cliff May-designed compound on Malibu’s Point Dume from Kristen Wiig. And while she continues to own that property, the high-flying business executive just added another pricey gem to her real estate portfolio. The president and chief business officer of commercial and consumer operations for Virgin Galactic — who previously served as a top Warner Bros. exec for 23 years — has doled out $9.6 million for a posh estate in the mountains above Beverly Hills.
That purchase price is slightly lower than the home’s original nearly $10 million ask, but still significantly above the $4.6 million that the prior owners paid for the gated half-acre estate just a year-and-a-half ago, back in winter 2021. Before that, the Beverly Hills Post Office spread was owned from 2003-2021 by actress Milla Jovovich.
Built in 1962, the modern single-level structure recently underwent an extensive renovation and expansion by Dosh Construction and Wise Builders. Five bedrooms and five baths are sprawled across just over 5,300 square feet of living space boasting oak and Jerusalem stone finishes, plus walls of Fleetwood glass doors offering seamless indoor/outdoor environs, while framing picturesque ocean and mountain views.
A covered walkway flanked by olive trees connects to the glassy front door, which opens into a massive great room bolstered by a contemporary fireplace. From there, the sunken living room connects to a separate dining area equipped with a wine display and wet bar, and a gourmet kitchen has an eat-in island, top-tier appliances and a walk-in pantry.
Elsewhere is a sumptuous master retreat, which comes complete with a private patio, designer showroom closet, and luxe bath sporting dual vanities and a large glass-encased shower that has a soaking tub tucked off to the side. Outdoors, the grassy backyard hosts an infinity pool nestled alongside a barbecue pavilion, along with plenty of spots ideal for al fresco lounging and entertaining. There’s also an attached two-car garage.
Rich — the daughter of late Hollywood producer Lee Rich, whose credits include the TV shows “Dallas,” “Knot’s Landing” and “The Waltons” — recently sold her stunning Paul Williams-designed home in Los Feliz for $6.4 million.
The Beverly Hills listing was held by Jacob Greene and Josh Altman of Douglas Elliman of California; Zach Goldsmith of The Agency repped the buyer.
