Two arrested for stealing gas and catalytic converters: police

(KRON) – The Fairfield Police Department arrested two individuals accused of stealing gasoline and catalytic converters on June 16, the department said.

Fairfield PD was notified that two people were siphoning gasoline and cutting catalytic converters from company trucks around 3:54 a.m. Officers responded to the 2400 block of South Watney Way.

As the suspects fled the scene, officers deployed their drones for an overhead search. Fairfield PD located a suspect fleeing the area on the railroad tracks south of the business. Police K-9 dogs assisted in finding the other suspect.

The suspects were identified as 49-year-old Bobby Tavenner and Colleen Cox, age unknown. Tavenner and Cox were arrested for stealing gas. Tavenner was also arrested for an outstanding no-bail warrant.
