Thousands of Pacific Gas and Electric Company customers in Calaveras and Tuolumne counties lost power due to outages on Saturday. Heavy rain and lightning strikes have been detected on Doppler radar according to KCRA 3 meteorologist Dirk Verdoorn. Officials say they are working as safely and quickly as possible to restore power to affected customers.
