These 5 N.J. counties rank in top 150 for hottest real estate markets in U.S.

Five New Jersey counties ranked in the top 150 for hottest real estate markets in the nation last month, according to data from Realtor.com.

Realtor.com calculates its hotness rank based supply and demand data on its site, Sara Wiskerchen, director of corporate communications at Realtor.com told NJ Advance Media in an email.

Gloucester County ranked the highest among the New Jersey entries on the list at 47 in July. Camden, Burlington, Passaic and Morris counties also made the list.

Nationally, Hartford County in Connecticut and Androscoggin County in Maine had the hottest markets in the U.S.

Realtor.com determines demand based on unique views of properties on Realtor.com, and supply through the number of days a property has been actively listed on Realtor.com. These two scores are then averaged to create a hotness score, and then ranked.
