One of the standout features of SOTI Connect is its advanced permissions system. In the latest release, administrators can now set up user access permissions by device group, allowing for granular control and restricted access to printers based on roles. SOTI Connect’s latest Network Inventory feature enables organisations to gain deeper insights into mobile and industrial printers. The ability to search their network for their mobile and industrial printers provides a comprehensive inventory for tracking and security purposes.
“SOTI Connect’s update introduces a range of new features that will improve the operation of key organisational devices. For instance, SOTI Connect now has an auto-renewal of device certificates to minimise security risks and tracking, while automatically renewing expiring certificates. Additionally, the File Store is now an independent service that can be installed on a separate machine for better performance. Data can be stored elsewhere to take advantage of faster hardware. Operating and debugging logs can now also be retrieved from printers, allowing for better and faster evaluation of issues on remote devices,” commented Dyson.
To enhance reliability and performance, SOTI Connect extends clustering capabilities to the Zebra version of the Protocol Adapter (PA) and the Management Server. This addition provides failover and load balancing support, minimising downtime and optimising resource utilisation.
“Thanks to SOTI Connect, our production lines run more smoothly due to a reduction in printer downtime. Having one pane of glass to monitor and manage all printers makes supporting devices very easy. SOTI Connect takes advantage of smart printer features by setting up preventive rules and reporting to anticipate errors and not react to issues. Having our printers updated at all times with the latest configurations and firmware ensures the quality and accuracy of our print labels so we see fewer product returns,” explained One Harvest infrastructure engineer Matt Casey.
SOTI Connect also extends its catalogue of supported devices with Avery Dennison mobile and industrial printers, along with its RFID reader. This extended support enables organisations to effectively manage a broader range of devices through SOTI Connect.
