But the village is not done yet with its improvements for kids looking to get outside and play. Along with the Town of Hanover, the Village of Silver Creek will assist the Silver Creek Kiwanis Club with the refurbishment of the Rix Place basketball court. The village approved a $6,000 donation to support the cause at a recent meeting.

“The Kiwanis Club is taking the lead on it,” said Hornburg. “We’re very happy they are interested in doing it, and we’re also happy to assist in making it come to light.”

Also at a recent meeting, the village approved the application of the Silver Creek/Hanover Garden Club for use of the Village Square and the Village Ball Park for their annual Garden Faire on May 20 from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. The village also approved the use of the Ball Park Pavilion and park area by the Silver Creek School for a concert on June 7 from 2 to 8 p.m. The First Baptist Church of Silver Creek will use the Ball Park Pavilion on June 28 at 7 p.m. for a concert, along with a Kids Bible Club on July 24-28 from approximately 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The next FeedMore WNY mobile food pantry event in the village is set for May 23 at the municipal parking lot, beginning at 11 a.m.
