CHARLOTTE — A Silver Alert was issued Friday night for Jimmy Dale McWhirter, 67, of Charlotte, who may be driving a bright red 1965 Ford Mustang, police said.

McWhirter was last seen on Wilkinson Boulevard near the Catawba River bridge heading toward Belmont, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
The two-door Mustang has North Carolina plates: NXD-7255.
McWhirter is 6 feet tall and weighs 270 pounds. He is bald with a goatee.
McWhirter was wearing a blue and white striped shirt and white shorts and tennis shoes.
He could be suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s, CMPD said.
