Reader’s View: Stauber’s silence is harming our nation – Duluth News Tribune
I am writing this on 9/11, on the anniversary of the attack by 19 terrorists, 15 of them citizens of Saudi Arabia, that killed thousands of our people. First responders died and first responders suffered from lung disease, yet it took the former host of “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart, to
the help and recognition for what they gave up to protect our people. Republicans did little to serve these heroes; Jon Stewart did.
It is time for Rep. Pete Stauber to print his voting record for all to see. He has taken credit for bills he voted against for our infrastructure (“
Stauber touts airport grants funded by infrastructure bill he voted against
,” Jan. 10, 2022).
When will Stauber target Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Alabama, for potentially harming our military by blocking the needed movement for leaders the military needs so they can protect us?
When will he call out Fox News and Rupert Murdock, who knowingly spread election lies, which, with Stauber’s silence and the support of President Donald Trump, helped to bring about the Capitol insurrection?
Stauber has, with his lack of willingness to speak truths, helped bring our country almost down to its knees. The key word is almost. Trump tells lies, would seemingly do anything to protect himself, and has praised Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, dictators who destroy lives and freedom. His silence and false claims have done damage.
Truths will come out. It may take time.
Stauber claims to love our country. He can prove it with truths.
