Periodic Updates on the Grains, Livestock Futures Markets

OMAHA (DTN) — December corn is up 1/4 cent per bushel, November soybeans are up 4 1/4 cents per bushel. December KC wheat is up 3 cents per bushel, December Chicago wheat is up 1 1/2 cents per bushel and December Minneapolis wheat is up 4 3/4 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 71.97 points at 34,142.39 and The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.110 at 105.47 and November crude oil is up $0.36 per barrel at $89.99. Grain and soy markets have hardly moved in the last few hours, except for soymeal, which has leaked lower. Corn continues to trade right around unchanged with an absence of market-moving news Friday.

December KC wheat is up 4 1/2 cents per bushel, December Chicago wheat is up 3 1/4 cents per bushel and December Minneapolis wheat is up 3 1/2 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 8.42 points at 34,078.84 and The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.180 at 105.55 and November crude oil is up $1.63 per barrel at $91.26. In very slow trade to end the week, corn is near unchanged while wheat, soybeans and soy products are all firmer. There is a dearth of news driving markets early Friday. Showers and storms are expected to curtail harvest activity into the weekend before turning warmer and drier next week.

Posted 08:34 — December live cattle are up $0.80 at $190.3, October feeder cattle are up $0.65 at $258.425, December lean hogs are up $0.20 at $74.675, December corn is steady and December soybean meal is steady. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 15.03 points. The cattle complex will expect to see some more cash cattle trade develop throughout the day as Thursday’s business was relatively thin. This afternoon the monthly Cattle on Feed report will be released which will be another big-ticket item for the market.
