Newburyport Bank donates money to feline rescue society | Local News

NEWBURYPORT   — The Newburyport Bank Charitable Foundation has donated $1,200 to the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society (MRFRS) of Salisbury in support of its 2023 Annual Fur Ball Gala and Auction. It will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28,  from 5:30- 9 p.m. at Andover Country Club in Andover.

The MRFRS is a nationally recognized, volunteer-driven non-profit organization committed to ensuring the health and welfare of feral and domestic cats and kittens by promoting proactive, compassionate, no-kill programs. The Annual Fur Ball Gala plays a major role in raising funds necessary for the life-saving programs on behalf of cats and people that care about them.

“The feline rescue society has cared for cats in need for over a quarter century,” said Lloyd L. Hamm, President and CEO of Newburyport Bank. “Whether it’s providing for their well-being and care, or placing cats and kittens into loving homes, they have done it with great compassion. Financial support is required to assist their efforts, and the Fur Ball Gala and Auction is a major initiative in that regard. The charitable foundation is pleased to again support this event and the work of the society.”
