Neoflow’s Natural Gas Platform Successfully Completes DHS Red Team Testing

Neoflow, an energy technology company based in Calgary, has achieved a significant milestone by completing the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Red Team Testing for their Natural Gas Platform. Red Team testing involves simulating real-world cyberattacks to evaluate and enhance the system’s defenses. The DHS engaged a group of independent cybersecurity experts to thoroughly examine Neoflow’s Natural Gas Platform, and their findings confirmed its robustness and ability to withstand potential cyber threats.

Patrick Mandic, the Chief Technology Officer at Neoflow, expressed satisfaction with the successful completion of the rigorous DHS Red Team Testing. He praised the hard work and dedication of the team and emphasized the company’s commitment to prioritizing the security and resilience of their platform.

The development of the Neoflow Platform for Natural Gas is supported by the DHS through their Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP). In 2019, Neoflow was awarded a contract under the DHS Preventing Forgery & Counterfeiting of Certificates and Licenses solicitation to develop the platform. The goal of the platform is to modernize the movement of natural gas and oil between Canada and the United States by utilizing Verifiable Credentials (W3C) and distributed ledger technology (DLT) based on industry standards.

The positive Red Team report is a significant milestone, indicating that the Neoflow Platform for Crude Oil has successfully completed the first three stages of development. The completion of the DHS Red Team Testing further validates the platform’s readiness to ensure the security and resilience of the natural gas industry.

The Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP) is an initiative by the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) to promote innovation and collaboration with private sector partners in the development of homeland security solutions. Participants in SVIP are eligible for non-dilutive funding over four phases to adapt and develop commercial technologies for specific homeland security use cases.
