Nebraska residents relive moments house explodes in neighborhood
The Wood River community rallied after an explosion rocked the neighborhood. Several families had to leave their homes and personal items behind following the home explosion on Saturday.The person in that home, 50-year-old Craig Zinsser Beauvait died at the scene. Investigators discovered evidence of tampering with the natural gas system in the household. One of Beauvait’s neighbors was checking on his cat and said he saw Beauvait was holding a lighter right before the explosion. Neighbor Nell Bohnart said she and her son smelled gas coming from the residence. Bohnart’s son ran to warn as many neighbors as he could.Multiple houses and businesses surrounding the blast suffered major damages, including Bohnart’s home. “It went kaboom,” said Neil Bohnart. “Well, you know what? What can you know, what can I say?
