Mrs. Glenda Fay Farr Mintz, age 88, of Silver Creek, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Spires at Berry.
Mrs. Mintz was born in Polk County, Georgia on August 9, 1935, daughter of the late James Walton Carpenter and the late Sarah Smith Carpenter. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Richard “Dick” Farr, and a sister, Ann Carpenter Dean. Mrs. Mintz worked in the banking business for many years. She wore many hats in this field. Prior to retiring, she was promoted to a bank officer at Regions Bank. Mrs. Mintz was a member of First Baptist Church Lindale.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Stewart Mintz; a daughter, Holly Jena Farr; cousins, Fonda Mathis, Frank McKelvey, Charles Carpenter, and Betty Jean Baker; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 5:30pm in the Sanctuary at First Baptist Church Lindale with Pastor Eric Whelchel officiating and her daughter, Holly Farr delivering the eulogy.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church Lindale on Monday from 3:30pm until 5:15pm.
