The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), as administrator of the Energy Social Inclusion Fund (FISE), has managed to provide clean and affordable energy to more than 100 thousand families in the north of the country through the BonoGas program, thanks to the promotion of the “Plan with Punch Peru”.

The region with the most users connected to the natural gas service is La Libertad, with 50,492 beneficiaries from the provinces of Trujillo and Pacasmayo; followed by the Lambayeque region with 23,823 from the provinces of Lambayeque and Chiclayo; Ancash continues with 15,333 families from the Santa and Huaraz provinces.

Other northern regions that currently have the BonoGas program are Cajamarca with 7,679 users and Piura with 2,723 connected in the provinces of Paita and Talara, being a milestone achieved with the budget of the Plan with Punch Peru.

To date, the Energy Social Inclusion Fund, through agreements signed with 166 installation companies, has managed to build 1098.4 kilometers of distribution networks nationwide, of which 728 kilometers belong to the northern regions of the country.

The BonoGas program benefits residential homes, businesses and social institutions such as soup kitchens, glass of milk and public schools in eight regions of the country, starting in 2021 in northern Peru, in the regions of La Libertad and Ancash; in 2022 in the regions of Cajamarca and Lambayeque; and in 2023 in the Piura region.

It is worth mentioning that the BonoGas program has not only contributed to the economy of the basic family basket, due to the savings it represents compared to the use of LPG cylinders, but, in turn, has generated more than a thousand jobs. , contributing to the economic reactivation of more Peruvian families.
