Los Angeles man pleads guilty to robbery spree spanning 8 businesses, several

A Los Angeles man pleaded guilty to robbery on Wednesday, Sept. 6,  admitting to holding up eight Southern California businesses and stealing a car in April, federal authorities said.

Namir Malik Ali Greene, 23, has been in federal custody since April 18. He was originally arrested on a federal complaint alleging he committed robberies and two carjackings over a three-week span.

An affidavit filed in federal court in April alleges that Greene stole more than $15,000 during the crime spree.

Greene’s plea agreement states that on April 4, he robbed a gas station in Marina Del Rey. Greene made a purchase and stayed inside the store until the customers left, then placed a paper bag on the store counter, aimed a BB gun at the clerk, and instructed them to put money in the bag. The clerk took $700 out of the cash register, put it in the bag, and Greene fled the store.

Greene also admitted in the plea agreement that after the robbery in Marina Del Rey, he went on to rob several other stores in Long Beach, Whittier, South Los Angeles, Pomona and Culver City between April 4 and 8.

Greene also admitted to carjacking a 2010 Honda Accord on April 15 while armed with a BB gun. He led police on a short pursuit and was taken into custody.

Greene faces up to 20 years in federal prison when he’s sentenced in November.
