A boil water advisory has been issued for East Bank of Jefferson Parish. The Water Department and Emergency Crews are onsite throughout the night but they say there is currently no estimated time of when water pressure will be restored. Once the water pressure is restored, residents will be under a boil water advisory until it is lifted. All three eastbound lanes of Jefferson Hwy from Central Ave to Shrewsbury Rd will be closed in the morning. The traffic detour will be North to Airline or South to River Road, to Shrewsbury and back to eastbound Jefferson Hwy. Jefferson Parish Head Start Centers, Community Centers, Libraries and JPRD facilities on the East Bank of Jefferson Parish will be closed tomorrow due to the advisory. Catholic schools on the East Bank of Jefferson Parish will be closed Wednesday due to low water pressure. The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is also affected by the advisory. MSY says due to the loss of water pressure in the airport terminal, all restrooms and water fountains are closed at this time. The airport says pre-packaged food and drinks are available at the airport concessions. MSY says flight operations have not been affected at this time.
