In the aftermath of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Paul Valcin, a man with an unyielding sense of compassion, felt a deep calling to serve his country. Witnessing the harrowing collapse of the Twin Towers, he was moved to take action and contribute to the healing of his wounded nation. Driven by a profound desire to make a difference, Paul enlisted in the US Military, committing himself to a path of service that would profoundly impact his life and the lives of those around him.

Paul’s military career was marked by his unwavering dedication and a strong sense of duty. He underwent rigorous training, demonstrating his resilience and determination to contribute positively to his country’s defense. He embraced the values of honor, integrity, and camaraderie that are integral to the military experience. Through deployments and challenging assignments, Paul consistently demonstrated his commitment to safeguarding the freedoms and security of his fellow citizens.

After years of honorable service, Paul transitioned to a new chapter in his life, one that continued his mission of compassion and support. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by veterans returning from their service, he joined the Department of Veterans Affairs. For 13 years, Paul tirelessly worked to ensure that his fellow veterans received the care, resources, and respect they rightfully deserved. His dedication was a testament to his unselfish nature and his unwavering commitment to the well-being of those who had sacrificed for their country.

Some beneficiaries of his scholarships were even given the chance to start their own businesses, igniting a cycle of empowerment and economic growth.

In the summer of 2017 and 2018, Paul’s journey came full circle as he embarked on a life-changing trip to Haiti. This expedition was more than just a visit; it was a culmination of his years of dedication, compassion, and service. Paul recognized the potential for meaningful change in his homeland and collaborated with local leaders to implement initiatives that would bring about sustainable transformation.
