KARIMNAGAR: All the issues pertaining to the coal miners and contract workers of Singareni will be resolved by forming a high-power committee, said I-T minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, who participated in the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) elections campaign in support of the Congress-affiliated trade union Indian National Trade Union of Congress (INTUC) here at OCP-1, OCP-2, and Adriyala Longwall Project present under RG-3 in Ramagundam of Peddapalli district on Monday.
The Congress intensified the SCCL election campaign, with the I-T minister in Ramagundam, revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy in Kothagudem, and MLA Gandra Satyanarayana participating in the campaign in Mancherial. They assured the coal mine workers of the all-round development of Singareni.
Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Babu said that the Congress government would fulfil the dream of Singareni workers to have their own house, along with the establishment of new underground coal mines.
A holiday will be declared on the occasion of Singareni Foundation Day, along with the relocation of female employees from underground mines to the surface region. Necessary steps will be taken to provide jobs to the dependent workers so that they cannot spend even a single rupee, he added.
The Revenue minister promised the coal miner workers that the Congress government would fill up all vacant posts in the Singareni, along with the sanctioning of housing sites and Rs 20 lakh in interest-free loans for the construction of houses.
MLA Satyanarayana alleged that the previously recognised trade union Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangam (TBGKS), which won the SCCL elections, never bothered about resolving issues pertaining to coal mine workers and did not take any steps for the welfare of coal miners. If the Singareni workers elect the INTUC in the SCCL elections, all their issues will be resolved, he assured.
In erstwhile Adilabad district, the Congress MLAs were busy campaigning with full force. Gaddam Vivek interacted with the INTUC leaders in Mandamarri; Gaddam Vinod participated in the gate meeting in Bellampalli and Kokkirala Prem Sagar and the INTUC secretary general attended the meeting with the Singareni workers in Mancherial.
During their campaign for the SCCl elections, the MLAs claimed that it was the Congress government that saved the SCCL from BIFR by sanctioning special funds and reminded them that former AICC president Rahul Gandhi promised not to privatise the company and would create employment by setting up new coal mines.
They told the Singareni workers that it was the Congress government that introduced pensions to them and informed them that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy asked them to tell the workers that he was with them and committed to the Singareni workers’ welfare.
