Here’s how Grayscale’s ETF could destroy ethereum

Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) for crypto have become a hot topic in the financial industry, offering investors a new way to access digital asset markets. Recently, attention has turned to Grayscale and its Ethereum Spot ETF project, which could have negative repercussions on the price of Ethereum (ETH).

A report from the research firm Kaiko highlighted the potential consequences of Grayscale’s Ethereum Spot ETF on the ETH market. Consequently, if Grayscale’s Ethereum Trust (ETHE) follows the same path as the Bitcoin Trust of Grayscale (GBTC), it could lead to considerable daily fund outflows, estimated at about $110 million!

These forecasts are based on observations made during the conversion of GBTC into an ETF. Indeed, this transition caused significant net outflows of over $6 billion, which had the effect of putting downward pressure on the price of Bitcoin. If ETHE experiences similar outflows, it could also exert disastrous pressure on the price of crypto.
