Here are the ways Evansville residents’ electric bills could increase


EVANSVILLE – Evansville-area residents’ electricity bills could increase yet again thanks to multiple cases waiting for state approval.

One hike could happen relatively soon, while others may not land on your bill until 2024.

When could my bills go up?

CenterPoint filed two petitions with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission in a span of eight days.

The first, submitted to the IURC on May 16, asked the IURC for a fuel cost adjustment, allowing them to collect more from customers to offset higher energy prices. The surges would take place in August, September and October.
