KOLKATA: The New Town Kolkata development authority (NKDA) plans to engage event management agencies to provide hospitality services at the six listed NKDA run community centers in New Town. Users who intend to book the said community centers will have to avail hospitality services like caterers, decorators, electricians, florists and others from the empanelled agencies only. No other agencies barring the empanelled one will be allowed to provide such services in the said NKDA community centers.
The six NKDA community centers which have been listed are the community centers I to V and the club banquet near NKDA bus terminus. The authorities on Wednesday issued a notification in this regard.
Users will be able to select an empanelled agency of their choice while booking a community centre. NKDA will also display the names and contact details of the empanelled agencies.
Officials said that till now, users booking a community centre were also engaging caterers and decorators of their choice. This was creating confusion in some matters regarding overall functioning of the community centers, specially as to who will do the cleaning work after an event. “The new system has been decided to provide improved and standardised services to the users of the community centers,” said an official.
