Kolkata: Emami East Bengal FC defeated Diamond Harbour FC 4-1 in their CFL Super Six match at the East Bengal ground on Monday. Jesin TK (35th minute), Mahitosh Roy (59), Tuhin Sikdar (79) and Abhishek Khunjam (89) scored for the home team. For Diamond Harbour, Rahul Paswan scored in the 45th minute. With this win, East Bengal brightened their chances of finishing second in the CFL. With 36 points from 15 matches, East Bengal have now opened up a four-point lead over third-placed Diamond Harbour. Mohammedan Sporting have already retained the CFL title. Jesin put East Bengal ahead in the 35th minute. DHFC drew level in the second minute of the first-half stoppage time with Paswan tapping the ball in from close range. But East Bengal sealed it with a second-half performance, scoring three goals.Meanwhile, East Bengal senior team beat Mohammedan Sporting 4-0 in a friendly.
