Delhi AQI Live News Updates: GRAP Stage 4- What’s banned

  • Entry of truck is banned under the stricter norms
  • Also, a ban will be imposed on the plying of Delhi-registered diesel-operated Medium Goods Vehicles (MGVs) and Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) in Delhi, except those carrying essential commodities/ providing essential services.
  • Boring, drilling, excavation, and stuffing have been strictly prohibited in construction and demolition sites. There will be a complete restriction on all structural construction work, including building activities.
  • A ban has been imposed on the operation of BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel LMV (4 wheelers).
  • NCR State Govts and GNCTD may take a decision on discontinuing physical classes even for classes VI-IX, and class XI and conduct lessons in an online mode.

Delhi AQI Live News Updates: ICC assessing Delhi situation ahead of Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka clash on Monday

An ICC spokesperson told IANS on Saturday that they are assessing the situation in New Delhi ahead of Monday’s clash. “The ICC and our hosts, the BCCI take the well-being of all participants seriously and are monitoring the air quality in Delhi. We are taking expert advice to assess the situation,” said the ICC spokesperson. IANS also understands that air quality is assessed in the same way as other weather conditions by the match officials to decide whether it is fine and safe enough to play the game or not on the match day. Many players from the Sri Lankan team have already experienced playing cricket in the polluted air of New Delhi when they played a Test match against India at this venue in December 2017.That time saw five players fielding with masks on, with several of them receiving medical attention for respiratory problems and vomiting in the dressing room.

Delhi BJP chief Virend Sachdeva claimed that there were 5,140 incident of stubble burning in Punjab in the last three days. “In the last three days, Punjab had reported 5,140 incidents of stubble burning, whereas Haryana has reported 175 cases, as per government data. Yet, they will blame Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. They won’t talk about Punjab since they are in power there,” Delhi BJP chief Virend Sachdeva told PTI.
