Cutting winter energy costs: PG&E offers tips and hosts virtual town hall

We are well into fall and winter is quickly approaching with this in mind it’s important to remember the best ways you can cut down on energy costs.

According to Pacific Gas And Electric (PG&E), natural gas prices are based on supply and demand so naturally, prices go higher in the winter. It’s important to remember to follow a few steps to help keep costs down.

KRCR spoke with A PG&E Spokesperson, Paul Moreno, on what customers can do to conserve energy at a good price. “You can do a lot of things to reduce your cost and stay comfortable while heating your home.” Moreno continued, “Make sure your heating system is inspected regularly, and change the furnace filters quarterly on your system to keep them running effectively.”

“Use installation strips under doors and near windows where you may have,” said Moreno. “Steps like these will greatly not only keep you warmer but also reduce your heating costs.”

Those interested in learning more ways to cut down on energy costs, PG&E will be hosting a virtual town hall meeting that starts at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and goes until 7 p.m. and the link can be found HERE.
