Costco member brings back diamond earrings after losing one

A COSTCO member has managed to successfully return an incomplete set of earrings.

Despite losing one of the diamond earrings, Costco still gave her some money back.

In the Costco subreddit, one user implored customers to ask warehouse employees about the most ridiculous returns they’ve witnessed.

“Next time you have a return, ask the associate what the most bullsh** thing was that they processed,” they wrote.

“I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.”

They asked a customer service employee themselves and were shocked by the response.

“One guy said a woman returned one diamond earring because she lost the other one. She got back half the purchase price,” said the user.

However, returns like this are not uncommon in the world of Costco returns, especially in the jewelry department.

Another shopper brought back thousands of dollars in jewelry.

In the same subreddit, one user explained how a member had returned three pieces of jewelry to the warehouse, amounting to $11,000.

“In the last three years, she spent $54,000 total and returned $44,000 worth,” they said.

The shopper was given the money for most of her jewelry purchases but was banned from making jewelry returns at Costco.

CRAZY RETURNS

Other Reddit users have exposed Costco shoppers who have been refunded for absurd returns.

One user described how they were making a reasonable return of an ill-fitting shirt when they saw several boxes containing dishes behind the customer service counter.

They asked an employee if the plates were defective and were shocked by the answer.

“It happened to be the first week of December and the employee said, ‘Nope, this happens every year after Thanksgiving when people borrow our plates then return them,'” they wrote.

“Gross and unreal!”

Others have gone as far as bringing eaten-through food back to the retailer.
