With more than 20 years of banking experience, Rob Sparks will replace Drew Hulsey, the current Coastal Regional President, who plans to retire in August after a distinguished banking career.
Colony Bank is pleased to announce the addition of industry veteran Rob Sparks who will assume the role of Coastal Regional President in August. Sparks will begin transitioning into his new role over the next two months, ensuring a seamless transition from Drew Hulsey, current Coastal Regional President who plans to retire in August after a distinguished banking career.
“Rob’s extensive business and commercial banking knowledge, combined with his deep roots and knowledge of our local community, make him the ideal candidate to build on the strong foundation we have in our coastal markets,” said Ed Canup, Chief Revenue Officer and President of Banking Solutions. “We also want to take this moment to celebrate Drew’s incredible 13 year career at Colony and nearly 40 years in banking. Sparks brings over 20 years of banking experience, specializing in all aspects of commercial and industrial lending, real estate, deposits, and treasury services. His expertise also spans various industries including healthcare, manufacturing, and logistics. He most recently served as Senior Vice President, Savannah Market Executive for First Citizens Bank. Prior to this, Sparks served as Vice President in Business Banking capacities for Wells Fargo Bank and The Coastal Bank.
Sparks holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and is a graduate of the Southeastern School of Commercial Lending. Sparks currently serves as a board member for Junior Achievement, Secretary for The Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision, and vestry member for St. John’s Church.
