Bureau of Land Managment introducing new laws.


GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is introducing new supplementary laws for the land they oversee.

Here is a peek into some of the laws prohibiting the following:


  • Paintball guns
  • Metal detectors
  • Domestic goats
  • Campfires outside of designated campsites
  • Permanent climbing anchors are required to match the color of the rock in all BLM lands managed by Grand Junction Field Office
  • Permanent climbing anchors are prohibited in Dominguez Canyon Wilderness area without BLM permit

More information on the laws and regulations can be found on BLM’s website.

These supplementary laws will be put in place in order to protect the natural resources and provide for safe public recreation. If you have comments or better ideas on the new proposed rules, the 60-day commit period runs through March 25.
