WALNUT, Calif. – Arizona Track and Field wrapped up the 2023 Pac-12 Championships on Sunday, with Talie Bonds claiming victory in the 100m hurdles. Bonds also finished third in the high jump and Trayvion White-Austin placed third for the men in the 200m.
Youssef Koudssi (discus), Alexa Porpaczy (high jump), Mackenna Orie (discus), Sir Jonathan Sims (triple jump), Logan Hasher (400m hurdles), and Alisa Lyesina (800m) all scored points for the Wildcats as well. The men’s team finished in fifth place overall at the meet, and the women ended in 10th.

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
In the women’s high jump, Talie Bonds finished on the podium, placing third overall after clearing a height of 1.78m (5-10). Alexa Porpaczy scored in the event as well, also clearing a height of 1.78m (5-10) to finish sixth overall.
Youssef Koudssi got things started for the Wildcats with a sixth-place finish in the men’s discus. Koudssi had a big personal best throw of 58.56m (192-1) on his fifth attempt that moved him from ninth place up to sixth. That mark also puts him ninth all-time in school history.
Mackenna Orie posted a huge personal best throw in the women’s discus of 54.36m (178-4) to finish sixth overall after scoring in the shot put yesterday. That mark is 10th all-time in Arizona school history.
Sir Jonathan Sims finished seventh overall in the men’s triple jump to earn points for the Wildcats, posting a leap of 14.75m (48-4.75).
Taylen Wise narrowly missed out on scoring in the women’s triple jump, finishing ninth overall with a leap of 12.47m (40-11).
TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
Talie Bonds headlined day three for the Wildcats, winning the women’s 100m hurdles final with a time of 12.75. Bonds’ victory was the first for any women in the event at the Pac-12 Championships in Arizona history. She has now won five consecutive 100m hurdles races. Her PR and school record time this year still remains fourth in the nation as well and fifth all-time in Pac-12 History. Additionally, Taylen Wise finished ninth in the event, just missing out on a top-eight finish.
Trayvion White-Austin clocked a huge PR time in the men’s 200m final to propel himself to a podium finish in the event. His time of 20.44 not only helped him place third overall, but also moved him up to fourth all-time in school history in the 200m. Additionally, that time also puts him 21st in the nation.
To start the day, the Arizona men’s team of Trayvion White-Austin, Brian Limage, Carl Hicks, and James Onanubosi finished fourth overall in the 4x100m relay with a time of 39.31.
In the men’s 400m hurdles final, Logan Hasher finished sixth overall with a big personal best performance, clocking a time of 52.58 to score for the Wildcats.
Alisa Lyesina finished sixth overall in the women’s 800m final, running a time of 2:06.77 to earn points for the Arizona Women.
Neysia Howard clocked a time of 11.68 in the women’s 100m final, finishing ninth overall in the event. Iker Sanchez Lopez finished 10th overall in the men’s 1500m final with a time of 3:50.79.
The men’s team of Carl Hicks, Trayvion White-Austin, Logan Hasher, and Isaac Davis finished fifth overall in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:07.69. Additionally, the Arizona Women ran a season best time and won their heat of the 4x400m relay. The team consisted of Xahria Santiago, Antonia Sanchez Nunez, Camila Aguilar-Perez, and Neysia Howard.
Overall, the Arizona Men won three different events: Jordan Geist in the hammer throw and shot put and Jared O’Riley in the javelin. They also had Zach Landa (shot put), Reinaldo Rodrigues (long jump), Kristjan Sigfinnsson (high jump), and Trayvion White-Austin (200m) add in podium finishes. The men finished in fifth place overall with 76 points.
For the Arizona Women, Talie Bonds won the 100m hurdles and also added in a podium finish in the high jump. They finished in 10th place overall with 39 points.
