Bada Heavy Industries, a leading small and medium-sized enterprise specializing in marine equipment in South Korea, has been making significant strides in expanding its global market presence. From June 19 to 21, the company participated in the International Maritime Safety Exhibition held at Songdo Convensia, showcasing its specialized manufacturing technology and various achievements to military and police officials from Southeast Asia.

During the exhibition, Bada Heavy Industries strengthened its network with naval and coast guard officials from key Southeast Asian countries such as the Philippines and Myanmar. The company introduced various equipment designed to enhance the efficiency of missions on special vessels, including naval ships and coast guard patrol boats. An overseas military official who attended the event remarked, “Bada Heavy Industries not only meets customer needs but also offers a range of transport equipment that improves inconveniences we hadn’t even considered before. Introducing these products will significantly enhance mission efficiency.”

Bada Heavy Industries has been actively developing customized products through its own research facilities. The company has diversified its business to include Marine Handling Equipment (MHE) for offshore plants, gangways, helicopter transport devices for warships, and helicopter hangar doors. Notably, it is the only company in South Korea that manufactures MHE for offshore plants.

The company’s efforts have paid off, as it has seen a steady increase in orders from domestic shipyards, large overseas shipyards, and global EPCIC projects. Bada Heavy Industries has already exceeded its order target for the first half of this year, with increasing orders from countries such as France, Japan, and Taiwan.

Kim Ki-won, CEO of Bada Heavy Industries, emphasized the company’s commitment to creating customer-centric value by developing safer and more efficient products. “We strive to create customer-centric value by developing safer and more efficient products based on high creativity and design capabilities, reflecting the diverse needs of both domestic and international customers. We aim to grow as a leading domestic manufacturer of specialized marine equipment, pioneering maritime safety with our differentiated technology,” Kim stated.

The International Maritime Safety Exhibition serves as a vital platform for networking and business development among industry leaders, military officials, and government representatives from around the world. Southeast Asian countries, such as the Philippines and Myanmar, face unique maritime security challenges, including territorial disputes and piracy, making them key markets for companies like Bada Heavy Industries.

Bada Heavy Industries’ success story illustrates the potential of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to compete globally and drive economic development. The company’s ability to innovate and customize products to meet specific needs highlights the importance of research and development in maintaining a competitive edge in the global market.

As Bada Heavy Industries continues to expand its global footprint, it remains committed to pioneering maritime safety with its differentiated technology and customer-centric approach.
