High tension prevailed in Kurnool town of Andhra Pradesh, as the CBI officials reached the town early in the morning, probably to arrest YSR Congress party MP from Kadapa Y S Avinash Reddy in connection with the murder of his uncle and ex-MP Y S Vivekananda Reddy.
As the news about his possible arrest spread, YSRC party workers assemble in huge numbers at the hospital to prevent the arrest. They assaulted media persons who came there to cover the event.
Avinash’s mother Sri Lakshmi is undergoing treatment for heart ailments at Vishwa Bharati Hospital in Kurnool.
On Sunday evening, Avinash wrote to the CBI rejecting the summons to appear before them today for questioning in the murder case. He wanted five days more time in view of his mother’s health condition
The CBI, however, rejected his plea. Early this morning, they landed in Kurnool to arrest him.
The CBI officials informed the Kurnool SP and the local police about the possible arrest.
Sources said the arrest may take place anytime.
